Washington: US President Donald Trump’s administration recently introduced a new plan to fight bird flu and reduce the price of eggs. The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has predicted more than 40 percent increase in 2025 after the new scheme of Trump administration came to light.
Spending has been spent
Emphasizing strengthening bio -safety in the fields, Agriculture Minister Brooke Rollins said that the USDA has spent about two billion US dollars to fight it since the outbreak of bird flu started in 2022 and there are other investment plans of one billion US dollars in this regard. Officials indicated the plan earlier this month. It is not clear what else farmers can do to keep the virus away.
Precautionary steps are being taken
Farmers running eggs and poultry (poultry) form have been working to protect their birds since the outbreak of bird flu in 2015. For this, they are also taking several steps, such as employees need to change clothes and bathe before entering the barn, use different tools and any vehicle entering the fields has to be ‘sanitize’ (infection free).

This is the biggest challenge
The challenge is that the virus spreads easily through wild birds because they pass through the fields. The main reason for the egg prices to reach US $ 4.95 per dozen this month is that more than 16.6 million birds have been killed to limit the spread of the virus after the cases were found, most of which were egg -laying chickens. The last month was the worst month for egg -producing farmers, when about 1.9 million eggs laying eggs were killed.
Egg prices will increase
Egg prices are expected to rise in the US this year and the USDA has predicted that egg prices will increase by at least 41 percent this year. Last month, the price of eggs was estimated to be 20 percent increase. (AP)
