America’s newly elected Vice President J.D. Vance resigns from the Senate

Newly elected Vice President J.D. Vance will no longer represent Ohio in the US Senate and resigned from the post, effective Friday.

Vance wrote a letter to Ohio Governor Mike DeWine in this regard. Devin will appoint a new member in his place.

“I thank you for the privilege of representing Ohio in the United States Senate,” Vance wrote in the letter. “When elected to this position, I promised that I would never forget where I came from, and I strive to fulfill that promise every day.”

“As I begin my duties as Vice President of the United States, I want to say that it has been my honor and privilege to represent Ohio in the Senate for the past two years,” he said.
