America’s Foreign Minister Marco Rubio
New York/Washington: After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, America has come forward in view of India’s tough stance. The US has spoken of reducing tension from India and Pakistan. The US has said that it stands with New Delhi against terrorism. It has also been said by the US that Islamabad should cooperate in the investigation of Pahalgam terror attack.
America with India against terrorism
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has held separate talks with India’s Foreign Minister S Jaishankar and Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. In his conversation with Jaishankar, Rubio expressed grief for those killed in the ‘terrible’ terrorist attack in Pahalgam. 26 civilians were killed in this terrorist attack, mostly tourists. Rubio encouraged India to work with Pakistan to reduce tension and maintain peace and security in South Asia.
Did Shahbaz Sharif say?
Marco Rubio also discussed the situation with Shahbaz Sharif. According to a press release issued by the office of Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Shahbaz Sharif apprised the US Secretary of State about the situation in Pakistan on the regional situation. During the conversation, Shahbaz Sharif accused India of abetment. Rubio told Pakistan to work with India to maintain peace and security in South Asia.
Pakistan begged in front of America
Pakistan has urged the US to pressurize India to avoid inflammatory statements. Sharif also raised the issue of Indus Water Treaty. Pakistan said that the water found under the treaty is a lifeline for 24 million people. He claimed that the treaty has no provision from any party to retreat unilaterally.
