A period of tension in India-Bangladesh relations
The period of tension between India and relations began when Bangladeshi students ousted former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina through violent agitation. The situation became such that he had to leave his country and flee to India. She has been living in India since 5 August 2024. Since then the relations between India and Bangladesh have deteriorated. Now Mohammad Yunus is taking over the reins of the interim government of Bangladesh. As soon as Yunus came to power, Hindus are facing atrocities and oppression in Bangladesh. But the interim government has deliberately remained ignorant of the violence on Hindus. Not only this, he has accused Hindu leader Chinmoy Krishna Das of treason and sent him to jail. Since then violence against Hindus has increased further.
