Assam Chief Minister Himanta Vishwa Sharma said that another person in the state has been arrested on charges of sympathizing from Pakistan. With this, the total number of such arrests in the state has increased to 79 since the Pahalgam terror attack last month.
The arrested person has been identified as Farij-ul Haq, a resident of Mangaldai district in Darang district.
The Chief Minister posted on ‘X’ on Friday and said, “Action is being taken against those who sympathize with Pakistan. So far 79 people have been arrested. ‘
Sharma had earlier said that the statewide action on the traitors will continue and no one will be spared.
The police have initiated action against those who are allegedly involved in “anti -India and pro -Pakistan activities”.
The Chief Minister had also said that some people arrested for alleged pro -Pakistan activities would be provided with the National Security Act (NSA), but not all.
