Abuja: In Nigeria, the rebels targeted the police and attacked the police. Following such attacks by the rebels, military forces retaliated in which many common citizens have been killed. Giving information, the officials said that the Nigerian Air Force did not disclose the number of citizens killed in the Safana region of the Katseena state but spokesperson Olusola Akinboyeva said in a statement that the number of casualties was being ascertained.
Answer to rebels attacks
Akinboyeva described the news of the casualties of the citizens as ‘extremely disturbing’ and said that the Air Force has attacked the police in response to the rebel attack. At the same time, the international human rights group ‘Amnesty International’ said in a statement that at least 10 people have been killed in the air strike. The Human Rights Group described the air strike as a new incident on behalf of the Nigerian Army in a link to human rights violations and urged the government to conduct an independent inquiry.

Hundreds of citizens have died so far
Let me tell you that this is the second time this year when common citizens have been killed in military airstrikes in the turbulent northwest region of Nigeria. The Nigeria army often carries out airstrikes to end the rebels that cause instability in the northern part of the country. According to Lagos’s ‘SBM Intelligence Research Firm’, around 400 civilians have been killed in air strikes since 2017. (AP)
