ISKCON seeks help from India.
The condition of the Hindu community is worsening after the overthrow of Sheikh Hasina government in Bangladesh. Hindu homes and other institutions are constantly being targeted with violence. Now yesterday, one of the prominent leaders of ISKCON, Shri Chinmoy Krishna Das has been taken into custody in Dhaka. He has been detained at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka. The police have not even provided information about the charges for which Chinmoy Krishna Das has been arrested. ISKCON has sought help from the Government of India by tweeting on X regarding this matter. ISKCON has also tagged Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Foreign Minister Ash Jaishankar in the tweet.
Alleging terrorism is insulting – ISKCON
On the arrest of Sri Chinmoy Krishna Das, ISKCON tweeted – “We have received disturbing news that Sri Chinmoy Krishna Das, one of the prominent leaders of ISKCON Bangladesh, has been detained by the Dhaka Police. ISKCON is not working anywhere in the world. It has nothing to do with terrorism. Making baseless allegations about this is insulting.”
Appeal to the Government of India
Seeking help from the Indian government in this matter, ISKCON said – “ISKCON urges the Indian government to take immediate steps and talk to the Bangladesh government. We are a peace-loving Bhakti movement. We want the Bangladesh government to release Chinmoy Krishna Das. Do it immediately. We pray to Lord Krishna for the safety of these devotees.”

According to PTI, Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council condemned the detention of Chinmoy Krishna Das, saying it could affect Bangladesh’s image in the world. Hundreds of people from the Hindu community took to the streets at Cheragi Pahad intersection in Chittagong and demanded the immediate release of Das. Similarly, people of the Hindu community in the capital blocked Shahbagh intersection late in the evening in protest against the arrest. (input language)
