Amid the anger of the people against the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, Bangladesh has issued a decree to its citizens not to visit the Jewish country. Bangladesh has advised to travel ‘except Israel’ on its passport. This is the second time in Bangladesh, when it is advisable not to travel to Israel.
Special note written in passport
Bangladesh’s Home Ministry has issued a directive regarding this. In this, the passport and immigration department has been asked to re -connect this special note in the official travel permit of citizens going abroad ‘is valid for all countries of the world except Israel.
The journey has been stopped before
Bangladesh has earlier issued instructions not to travel to its citizens Israel. During the Awami League government led by former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, a special note traveling to all countries except Israel was removed in 2021. At that time the officials had said that it was removed from the passport to maintain the international standards of the document.
Instructions issued on 7 April
At the same time, now Neelima Afroz, Deputy Secretary, Security Service Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs, told the news agency BSS, “We had issued a directive to our citizens on 7 April for not traveling to Bangladesh.”
Free Palestine demand arises in Bangladesh
However, this was revealed on the day when thousands of protesters took out a rally in Dhaka to condemn Israeli actions in Gaza Patti. In this rally, hundreds of protesters were carrying Palestinian flags and slogans like ‘Free, Free Palestine’ were raised.
Demonstration against Trap and Netanyahu
The main protest was held near the University of Dhaka at Suhravardi Udyan in Dhaka. Many of them also beat up the pictures of US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and also accused him of supporting Israel. (Input-PTI)
