Lahore: The interim government of Bangladesh has simplified the visa process for people from Pakistan to further strengthen trade and economic ties. Bangladesh High Commissioner to Pakistan Iqbal Hussain, addressing the business community at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Saturday, said the present government has removed the requirement for Pakistani embassy heads to seek clearance from Bangladesh while issuing visas.
According to the newspaper ‘Dawn News’, Hussain said that increasing trade and investment between the two countries should be our top priority to move forward. Hussain said the Mohammad Yunus-led interim government was keen to improve relations with Pakistan. Let us tell you that Bangladesh has taken this decision at a time when its tension with India is at its peak. Bangladesh had recently canceled many programs of India. On the other hand, he is opening arms for Pakistanis.
Pakistan is looking at the market in Bangladesh
Relations between the two countries have not been satisfactory during the last decade. He said that Bangladesh, with a population of 18 crores, can be a big market for Pakistan, which it can take advantage of. The diplomat said that the trade potential between the two countries has not been properly utilized. Now Pakistan can take advantage of this.
