Dhaka: After deliberately spoiling its relations with India, Bangladesh has now started trying to increase its friendship with Pakistan and China. In this episode, now Bangladesh has held secretary level talks with Pakistan after about 15 years. During this time many issues have been discussed. India is keeping an eye on the growing proximity in both countries. After a gap of about 15 years, after the Foreign Secretary level Foreign Office Counseling Meeting on Thursday, the foundation of new relations in the two countries is considered to be fixed.
Bangladesh and Pakistan have discussed many bilateral issues, focusing on the most trade relations. The meeting was held a few days before Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Isaac Dar’s visit to Dhaka. According to the news of the Government News Agency Bangladesh Dialogue Institution (BSS), Bangladesh Foreign Secretary Jashim Uddin and Pakistan Foreign Secretary Aamna Baloch led their respective aspects during the Foreign Office Consultation (FOC) held at the State Guest Home Padma.
Pakistan Foreign Minister will visit Bangladesh
Pakistan Foreign Minister Isaac Dar will visit Bangladesh later this month. The BSS said that during the meeting, the two sides discussed several bilateral issues, focusing on trade relations between the two countries. Aamna Baluch arrived here on Wednesday (on Thursday), during the day, there is a program to present a courtesy meeting with Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus and Foreign Affairs Advisor Tauheed Hussain. The previous Foreign Office counseling meeting between Bangladesh and Pakistan was held in 2010.
