The National Bureau (NCB) of Bangladesh Police has requested Interpol to issue a red corner notice against 12 persons, including the deputed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. This information was given in a news released in the media.
The Awami League government fell after a large -scale demonstrations under the leadership of students last year in Bangladesh and 77 -year -old Hasina had moved to India and she has been living there since then.
Bangladesh’s English newspaper ‘Daily Star’ quoted Assistant Inspector General of Inspector (Media) Inamul Haq Sagor as saying that NCB makes such requests on the basis of appeal of courts, government prosecutors or investigative agencies.
At the police headquarters, Sagore confirmed this, saying, “This application has been filed in relation to the allegations which have come up during the investigation or in the ongoing case.”
