Bamako (Mali). There has been a major accident in a gold mine in the West African country of Mali. A large number of laborers have been hit by landslide during mining. He has died due to this. However, no number of deaths has been stated. The Governor’s Office of the Kaulikoro region said on Thursday that a group of female gold miners in Mali were hit by a landslide, killing many of them.

In a statement aired on Mali’s national television, Colonel Lamin Capori Sunogo, Governor of Kaulicoro, said, “Women were in large numbers during mining in search of gold. She was all surrounded by a mining dam, which opened the way and entered the water with mud. All the women were engulfed.

Many accidents have happened before

This is not the first time that such accidents have occurred in the gold mine in the gardener, considered one of the three gold producing countries of Africa. In January last year, an irregular gold mine collapsed in Mali, killing more than 70 people near the capital Bamako. According to the International Trade Administration with the US Department of Commerce, “Sona Mali has the most important export ever, which includes more than 80 percent of the total exports in 2021.”
