Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan
Islamabad: Negotiators from the Pakistan government and opposition Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will hold a very important closed-door meeting on Thursday to resolve political differences. Information regarding this has been given in a report on Tuesday. This meeting has been called by National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq. Daily newspaper ‘Express Tribune’ reported that the meeting will be held at Parliament House at 11 am and there is a possibility of taking forward the talks that started on December 23.
What is PTI’s plan?
PTI, the party of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan, is preparing to present two major demands in written form during the upcoming session after internal discussions. These demands include the formation of a judicial commission to investigate the violent incidents of May 9, 2023 and the November 26 crackdown on PTI workers in Islamabad, and the release of all political prisoners, including 72-year-old Khan.
PTI leaders are firm on their demand
Reiterating these demands, former National Assembly Speaker and PTI leader Asad Qaiser said that the party is firm on the demand for formation of a commission to investigate the incidents of May 9 and November 26. The Kaiser also stressed the need for Khan’s release. The first talks held between the two sides on December 23 were described as positive and during this they agreed to continue the talks.
Imran’s sister’s statement is important
Meanwhile, let us also tell here that the sister of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that Khan neither wants to make any deal with the government nor is any other country trying to get him released from jail. Alima said that Khan, who is in jail, asks, “Why does he need to make a deal when the cases are pending against him?” According to him, Khan also said that “he has spent time in jail and now that his cases are ending, he is not making any deal.” (Language)
