Mohammad Yunus, a Bangladesh acting sitting next to PM Modi at Dinner, Bimstech.
Bangkok: The two leaders appeared next to the two leaders in the dinner before the possibility of bilateral discussions between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bangladesh’s interim government chief Mohammad Yunus on the sidelines of the ongoing BimMSTech summit in Thailand. The picture of PM Modi and Younus sitting together has surfaced in the dinner organized for BIMSTEC group leaders. During this period, no details have been revealed whether some formal talks were held between the two leaders.
The Prime Minister of Thailand, Partagatarn Shinavatra, hosted the banquet. Yunus’s office shared some pictures, in which the head of the interim government of Bangladesh can be seen sitting next to Modi at Hotel ‘Shangri-La’ on the banks of the Chao Fraya River. Modi can hold talks with Mohammad Yunus, the head of the interim government of Bangladesh here on Friday. This will be the first meeting between Modi-Unus after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left the country in August last year.
The possibility of bilateral meeting increased
The meeting between the two leaders is likely to be beyond the sixth BIMSTEC summit. Modi’s meeting with Yunus is important because India and Bangladesh have come to a standstill since Hasina is out of power and the attacks on minorities in that country. The meeting is also important in the backdrop of Younis’s recent visit to China, where he made some comments about the Northeast region, which India did not like. (Language)
