Now Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has given a big statement about the relations between the two countries. PM Carney has said that the era of strong economic, security and military relations between Canada and the US is over.
What did PM Mark Carney say?
PM Carney described Trump’s auto tariff as unfair and said that it is a violation of existing trade agreements between countries. He said about the relations between the US and Canada that Trump had permanently changed relations with the US to Canada. Carney also spoke of the end of the relationship with America. He said, our relationship with America was based on economy, security and military cooperation, but now our old relationship with America is over.
Canada will retaliate
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney also said that Canada will retaliate against auto tariffs. He said, “We will fight American tariffs with our counter -trade actions, which will have maximum impact in the US and will have a minimum effect in Canada.”

The Prime Minister of the Canadian Prime Minister comes at a time when President Trump has decided to increase the tariff. Trump has announced 25 percent tariffs on all vehicles not being manufactured in the US. This decision can prove to be very difficult for Canada’s auto industry. This decision of Trump will threaten the jobs of more than 5 lakh people working in Canada’s auto industry. Carney took over as Prime Minister on 14 March in place of Justin Trudeau.
