Toronto: Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has targeted US President Donald Trump in his address after the victory of Liberal Party in the election. Carney alleged that Trump wants to break the people of his country. Trump’s threats and trade war have played an important role in the Liberal Party’s victory.
‘Canada overcame American betrayal’
Addressing supporters in his victory address in Ottawa, Carney emphasized the unity of Canada in front of America’s threats. He also said that since World War II, the ongoing mutually beneficial system between Canada and the US has ended. He said, “We have recovered from the shock of American betrayal, but we should never forget the lessons received from him.”
‘Trump is trying to break us’
Carney said, “As I have been warning for months that America wants our land, our resources, our water, our country.” He said, “These are not useless threats. President Trump is trying to break us so that America can capture us. This will never happen, never will happen. But, we also have to recognize the reality that our world has originally changed. ”
Trump’s statements showed effect
Opposition Conservative Party Leader Pierre Poivre, accepting his defeat, pledged to fight for the Canadians. According to electoral analysts, initially the atmosphere in Canada was not seen in support of the Liberal Party but Trump asked to make Canada a 51st state of America, it affected the people.
