Ottawa: A Canadian court sentenced a 24 -year -old youth who confessed to the murder of Sikh businessman Ripudaman Singh Malik to life imprisonment. Malik was a suspect of a bomb blast case in an Air India aircraft in 1985. However, he was later acquitted. According to the news of ‘CBC News’, the British Columbia Supreme Court judge sentenced Tanner Fox to life imprisonment for 20 years for the murder of Malik.
Shot was shot on 15 July 2022
Malik was shot dead on 15 July 2022 at Sarre, British Columbia when he was sitting in his car. Two weeks after the incident, Canada police arrested Abbotsford resident Fox and his partner Jose Lopez from Vancouver in New Westminster. Both of them confessed to Malik’s murder in October last year. Lopez will be sentenced on Friday in the case. Fox and Lopez were given the betel nut to Malik’s murder, but both have not revealed who assigned them to this task.
Malik’s son appeals
Malik’s son Jaspreet Singh appealed to Fox and Lopez to reveal the name of the person who gave him a contract to kill his father. Jaspreet said, “I am asking Fox and Lopez to do the right thing. Tell RCMP, who gave you betel nut. Help bring those people into the dock of justice. ”
