Berut: After the collapse of former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s government, the risk of chemical weapons has increased. Now they can go into more wrong hands. These chemical weapons can become the biggest threat to humanity. In such a situation, the global surveillance institution keeping an eye on it has also become worried. Therefore, a delegation of this institution reached Damascus for the first time on Saturday and met the new leaders here.
The chemical weapon prohibition organization (OPCDB) has received the case that the Assad government used chemical weapons repeatedly in the 14-year civil war in Syria. OPCW Director General Fernando Arius said in a statement, “There was a long talk with the new Syrian leaders and it was worthwhile.” He said that the yatra with the former officials here after 11 years of deadlock with the former officials here.
