External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar holding bilateral talks with Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Johannesburg
Johannesburg: India and China’s relations are again coming back on track after bilateral talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping last year. The two countries were felt more close in both countries during the G20 summit of foreign ministers running in Johannesburg, South Africa. China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi has bilateral talks with Indian counterpart S Jaishankar. However, no details have been issued between the two leaders and what issues were discussed.
After meeting the Chinese Foreign Minister, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has shared pictures on his social media platform X. However, he too has not disclosed the points of talks. But according to sources, there is a talk of resolving disputed points between India and China on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) and trade between the two countries. This meeting of foreign ministers of India and China shows that the tension between the two countries since June 2020 has now reduced to a great extent.

According to the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, S Jaishankar and Wang Yi in Johannesburg discussed harmony on the border, Kailash Mansarovar Yatra and Management of SCO. S. Jaishankar wrote in the post, “There was an opportunity to meet CPC Polit Bureau member and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi this morning on the sidelines of the G20 Foreign Ministers’ meeting in Johannesburg.”
