Beijing: China is fully prepared to make rapid progress in the field of space. China has made a big announcement on Tuesday. China has said that it will work towards expanding its space program in the next few decades. China has revealed plans to launch a manned lunar mission, build a lunar space station and search for habitable planets and life beyond Earth.
The plan is from 2024 to 2050
The country’s top space bodies unveiled the Long Term Development Program for Space Science, which will guide the country’s space science mission and space research plan from 2024 to 2050. China’s space science goals were outlined at an event released to the media here by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), China National Space Administration and China Manned Space Agency. It includes 17 priority areas under five major scientific disciplines and a three-phase format.

CAS vice president Ding Chibiao told the media here that the international lunar research station initiated by China will be constructed during the second phase from 2028 to 2035. The program also outlines a roadmap for the development of space science in China by 2050. In the first phase, China will focus on space station operations by 2027, implementing a manned lunar exploration project, the fourth phase of its lunar exploration program, and a planetary exploration project. He said that under the new plan, scientists will also explore the habitability of planets located in the solar system and outside the solar system and will discover the existence of life in places other than Earth.
