Taipei: Has China really started preparations for an attack on Taiwan? We are not saying this, rather this claim has been made by Taiwan itself on the basis of a video of the Chinese Army. Taiwan reported a group of Chinese aircraft carriers over its territory on Sunday headed towards the south of the island. China’s military released a video saying it is “ready for battle” amid concerns about the possibility of a new round of attacks on Taipei, according to Taiwan. This has created panic in Taiwan’s camp.
Let us tell you that China views democratically ruled Taiwan as its territory. He views Taiwanese President Lai Ching-te as an “isolationist” and dislikes him. Apart from this, the Chinese army regularly camps around this island country. Due to this, tension continues between the two countries. In his keynote speech on National Day last week, Lai Ching-te said that the People’s Republic of China (PLA) has no right to represent Taiwan. Yes, it is certain that the island is ready to work determinedly and cordially with Beijing to deal with challenges like climate change. China was stunned after this statement of the Taiwanese President.
Trouble in Taiwan due to group of Chinese carriers
Taiwan’s Defense Ministry said in a statement that a Chinese naval group led by the Liaoning carrier had entered waters near the Bashi Channel linking the South China Sea and the Pacific Ocean. This area separates Taiwan from the Philippines. It said that the Chinese carrier group is expected to enter the Western Pacific region. Without elaborating, the ministry said its armed forces were “keeping a close watch on the developments and taking appropriate precautions to respond”.
China can create war situations
Security sources in Taiwan had said before Lai’s address that his speech could encourage China to play new war games. On Sunday, the People’s Liberation Army’s Eastern Theater Command, which is in charge of the Taiwan region, posted a promotional video titled “Fully prepared before war and waiting for the moment” on its social media account. It shows fighter jets and warships working together, mobile missile launchers floating in the sky and surface-to-air vehicles. Even before this, China has not refused to use force to bring Taiwan under its control. (Reuters)
