Beijing: China on Monday appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘positive’ comment on India-China relations, in which he has preferred dialogue rather than differences. In a conversation with American Podcaster Lex Freedman at a press conference here, China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning replied to a question on Prime Minister Modi’s comments, saying that China has noticed and appreciates Prime Minister Modi’s recent positive comments on China-India relations.

‘China-India understands each other’s successes’

Mao said that the successful meeting between Prime Minister Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Kazan, Russia in October provided strategic guidance for the improvement and development of bilateral relations. He said that the two sides have seriously implemented important general consent, strengthened the exchange and achieved positive results. He said, “I want to emphasize that the two countries have maintained friendly exchange in the history of mutual relations for more than 2000 years” and the two countries have learned from each other by contributing to civilian achievements and human progress. He said that as the two biggest developing countries, China and India have shared their development and revival work and shared the work of accelerating the work of each other and support the successes of each other. Are.

‘China will carry forward relations’

Mao said it fulfills the fundamental interests of more than 2.8 billion people, fulfills the shared aspirations of regional countries, and follows the historical trend of ‘global South’ to be strong and suited to world peace. Reiterating the statement of China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi, he said that the two countries should become partners who contribute to each other’s success and keeping together ‘Elephant’ (India) and ‘Dragon’ (China) and walking together is “the only correct option” for the relationship between the two countries. He said that China is ready to work closely with India to implement important consensus between the two leaders. Mao said that China would take the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations as an opportunity and push bilateral relations on the path of stable and strong development.

‘Differences should not change in controversy’

PM Modi said in his podcast that the general position has returned to the India-China border after his recent talks with President Xi to reduce the tension arising out of the clashes between the forces of the two countries in Eastern Ladakh. Adopting an optimistic stance towards relations between two most populous countries in the world, Modi said that differences between neighbors are natural and they emphasized ancient cultural relations between them when the two civilizations learned from each other and had very little struggle between them. He said that the purpose of his efforts is to ensure that their differences do not change into controversy and prioritize dialogue rather than differences. He said that both countries had once contributed more than 50 percent to the global GDP. He said, “Our cooperation is not only beneficial (mutually), but also for global peace and prosperity.” (Language)
