US and Canadian Navy Ships at Taiwan Strait
Taipei: China recently conducted large-scale maneuvers near Taiwan. US and Canadian warships passed through the Taiwan Strait on Sunday, almost a week after the maneuvers. The US Navy’s 7th Fleet said in a statement issued on Monday that the destroyer ship ‘USS Higgins’ and the Canadian frigate ‘HMCS Vancouver’ regularly pass through the Taiwan Strait to uphold the principle of freedom of navigation for all countries. US Navy ships regularly pass through the sensitive waterway separating China from Taiwan. In such a situation, sometimes ships of friendly countries also accompany him.

Meanwhile, the People’s Liberation Army’s Eastern Theater Command said it has deployed navy and air force “in accordance with law” to monitor American and Canadian ships. The US Navy’s 7th Fleet said in a statement that the ships “passed through waters where freedom of navigation and overflight is governed by international law.” The statement also said, “The international community’s rights and freedom of navigation in the Taiwan Strait should not be limited.”
China had conducted military exercises on a large scale
Let us tell you that China had recently conducted large-scale military exercises around Taiwan and its outlying islands. An aircraft carrier was also deployed along with warplanes in the exercise.
