Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi spoke to India’s National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval and hoped that India and Pakistan would find a solution to this situation of conflict and take concrete steps towards permanent ceasefire.
China’s official news agency ‘Shinhua’ said that during the conversation, Doval told Wang that India did not opt for war but after the Pahalgam attack he needed to take action against terrorism.
Wang condemned the terrorist attack on 22 April in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan has a hand in this attack. Since this attack, tension between India and Pakistan has increased.
According to the news of ‘Shivhua’, Wang also spoke to Pakistan Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Isaac Dar.
The tension between the two countries has increased since the Indian Army took military action on terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan -occupied Kashmir (PoK) late Tuesday night in response to the Pahalgam attack. 26 people lost their lives in the Pahalgam attack.
After four days of drone and missile attacks from across the border, it was agreed on Saturday to stop all kinds of firing and military action in the ground, air and sea between nuclear weapons, with immediate effect.
According to the Chinese government news agency, in a conversation with Doval, Wang hoped that India and Pakistan would remain calm and restrained, manage the situation in a proper manner through direct dialogue and would avoid increasing stress.
Wang said that China hopes that there will be a wider and permanent ceasefire through deliberations between India and Pakistan. He said that the fundamental interests of the two countries are in this and it fulfills the aspirations of the international community. He said that China condemns the terrorist attack in Pahalgam and opposes all kinds of terrorism.
