Clashes between rebels and Assad supporters in Syria.
Damascus: Even after the forced capture of power by armed rebels in Syria, the conflict continues. In the latest incident, there has been a fierce clash between Assad supporters and armed rebels who are in power. 6 fighters have died in this. It is being told that six Islamic fighters were killed and many others were injured on Wednesday in clashes between the Islamists who seized power and supporters of the previous government led by the country’s ousted President Bashar al-Assad.
This is a big blow for the Islamic rebels after seizing power. The Britain-based war monitoring organization gave this information. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said fighters from Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, or HTS, were killed while trying to arrest a man who was a former official in the former Assad government. This former officer is accused of issuing death sentences and arbitrary decisions against thousands of prisoners.
Fighters killed in retaliation
HTC led the surprise attack that ousted Assad earlier this month. Scores of Syrians, mostly from the minority Alawite community, have been killed in reprisal actions since Assad was ousted, according to activists and observers. The Alawite community is a branch of Shia Islam to which Assad belongs. There were scuffles and gunfire between Alawite protesters and Sunni protesters in the capital, Damascus.
