This arrest has created a ruckus in Bangladesh. Human Rights Organization Amnesty International termed it wrong and demanded the release of Meghna. Bangladesh’s law advisor also called the arrest unfair. The High Court has sought a reply from the government in two weeks.
Meghna has been sent to jail for 30 days custody. Saudi Arabia is a major ally of Bangladesh, where millions of Bangladeshi work. This incident may increase tension between the two countries.
