Iran’s exile Shahzade Raza Pahlavi, on Monday, June 23, 2025, demanded resignation from supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, warning that the Islamic Republic was “collapsing.” At a press conference in Paris, Pahalvi said, “My direct message for Khamenei is: Leave the post. If you do this, you will get a fair lawsuit and legal process.” He claimed that Khamenei and senior officials are preparing to leave the country.
Pahlavi, who is the son of the last Shah Mohammad Raza Pahlavi, who was uprooted in the 1979 Islamic Revolution, said that the US attacks on three Iran’s nuclear bases are the result of Khamenei’s “destructive discovery of nuclear weapons”. He described the Israeli-Iran struggle as the result of “Khamenei’s terrorist policies”. Pahlavi appealed to the Irani Army and IRGC to come with the public and leave the government.
He appealed to the world leaders not to support the Islamic Republic and advocated a secular, democratic Iran. However, the Iranian intelligence agency leaked private pictures of Pahlavi and claimed that their security had been detained.
