Hindus performing in support of the monarchy in Nepal.
Kathmandu: Hundreds of leaders and activists of the National Democracy Party (RPP), a supporter of the monarchy in Nepal, again staged a strong demonstration on Sunday demanding the restoration of the monarchy and declaring the country a Hindu nation. The agitators surrounded the Prime Minister’s Housing and Parliament House during this period and demonstrated fiercely by raising anti -government slogans. The protesters did this protest in banned areas even after the presence of heavy police forces.
Around 1,500 protesters gathered in Bijulibaz–Baneshwar region and raised slogans like “Republic Murdabad”, “We want Rajshahi”, “Corrupt Sarkar Murdabad” and “Declare Nepal as Hindu nation”. He also had these slogans banners and posters in his hands. The protest was led by several leaders including RPP President Rajendra Lingden, senior leader Pashupati Shamsher Rana and former Nepal Inspector General of Police Dhruv Bahadur Pradhan. Thousands of police personnel were deployed in Kathmandu’s Nayaswar, Bijulibazar, Maitghar, Bhadrakali and Baluvatar areas after the protesters violated the prohibition of the protesters to violate the prohibition.
School teachers also joined protests
Earlier on Sunday morning, thousands of school teachers from all over the country demonstrated in the Nayeshwar region of Kathmandu. He demanded improvement in education sector and increase in salary and allowances. Proponents protesters gathered at three different places in Kathmandu and tried to break the security circle of the police and enter the restricted areas. Hundreds of protesters demonstrated in the Bhadrakali area, where the Secretariat Building and the Prime Minister’s Office are located. Another group was demonstrating in front of Parliament House. The RPP announced that it would continue indefinite agitation for its demands, the purpose of the monarchy in the country. (Language)
