A powerful earthquake of 8.8 intensity occurred in the far -eastern coastal region of Russia this morning, which has issued a tsunami warning in many coastal areas from America to Japan.
However, this tsunami has not had any direct impact on the UAE and this earthquake has not affected the international flights from UAE, especially on flights to Japan and Alaska. UAE airlines have said that their flights have not been affected in countries where tsunami alerts have been issued. Etihad Airways has said that all its flights are being operated in general. The airline runs flights to the US, Japan, Russia and other countries.
Dubai’s major airline Emirates has also not reported any delay in any type of flight. According to the flight status information of Dubai Airport, flights of Emirates continue normally for the affected cities. Flidubai (Flydubai) flights to Russia are also running at the scheduled time.
What happened in America and Japan on the other hand?
Two US airline operators have stopped flights to the Hawaiian Islands. Alaska Air Group has said that they are evaluating the situation. Therefore, flights to air going by Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines are currently stopped.
Japan’s leading airlines Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways have canceled all flights to Sendai (Sendai) city. International airlines like HK Express and EVA Air also canceled all Sendai flights on 30 July.
