Dhaka: Amid major controversy over the arrest of Chinmoy Krishna Das on treason charges, ISKCON Bangladesh on Thursday disassociated itself from Chinmoy Krishna Das. ISKCON has said that his actions ‘do not represent’ the religious organization. ISKCON Bangladesh General Secretary Charu Chandra Das Brahmachari said that Chinmoy Prabhu has been removed from all posts of the organization for breach of discipline and the activities done by him are not the activities of ISKCON.
Baseless allegations are being made against the organization
Charuchandra Das Brahmachari Brahmachari said that recently, a sustained effort has been seen to spread false and fabricated propaganda about ISKCON Bangladesh, focusing on the movement of Bangladesh Samyukta Sanatani Jagran Jot. Since the change of government through mass revolt on 5th August, some people are trying to create instability in the society by making misleading statements and baseless allegations to make our organization controversial.
Saiful Islam’s death sad
Charuchandra Das said that especially after the tragic death of prominent Chittagong lawyer Saiful Islam Alif, this effort has reached its peak. An attempt is being made to wrongly blame ISKCON Bangladesh for the undesirable incident that took place in front of the Chittagong Court Building. We wish to clarify that ISKCON Bangladesh has no involvement in such brutal incidents and the ongoing agitation.
Demand to ban ISKCON unfair
Charuchandra Das Brahmachari said that lies have now reached such a level that even matters like road accidents are being imposed in the name of ISKCON. We have already clarified this matter several times through press conferences and at various levels of government and administration. But unfortunately some certain people are deliberately spreading false propaganda against our organization and raising unreasonable demands like banning ISKCON.
