US President Donald Trump on Sunday (local time) addressed Ukraine President Volodimir Zelansky’s intentions about the rare Earth deal with the US and his aspirations for NATO membership.
Trump warned that if the Zelanceci attempts to withdraw from the agreement, he might have to face “big problems”, suggesting that Zelanski’s attempt to re -interact on the deal is associated with Ukraine’s NATO ambitions, which Trump rejected outright.
Talking to reporters, Trump said, “I think he wants to make a compromise. And I think Zelansky, by the way, I see that he is trying to back down from the rare earth deal. And if he does so, he will have some problems. Very big problems.”
Trump said in detail, “We had signed an agreement on the rare soil, and now he is saying, okay, you know, I want to re -talk about this agreement. He wants to become a member of NATO. Well, he was never going to be a member of NATO. He understands this.”
Emphasizing the possible consequences of changes in the current agreement, he said, “If he wants to re -interact on this agreement, he will have a big problem.”
According to CNN, the Rare Earth Deal is an agreement between the two countries, under which the US will exploit Ukraine’s rare mineral resources, in return for which it will get US $ 350 billion, military equipment and ‘right to fight’.
When asked if his relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin was in the worst position during the Russia-Ukraine War, Trump said that he does not think so and there were always “good relations” between them.
Trump said, “No, I don’t think so. I don’t think he will back down from his point. You are talking about Putin. I don’t think he will back down from his point. I have known him for a long time. We have always been well with us despite the deception of Russia, Russia, Russia.”
CNN said, “Trump has given two options giving a stern warning to the Russian President: either they cooperate in ending the Ukraine War or be prepared to face additional charges on Russian oil.”
During the telephone interview with NBC News, Trump said that he is “angry” with Putin’s actions and if Putin does not cooperate in the ongoing talks to end war in Ukraine, he can impose additional charges on dandruff.
“When Putin started questioning Jailonsci’s credibility when Putin started questioning the credibility of Jailonsci – I got angry – because it was not going in the right direction,” Trump said in an interview with the host Kristen Velker of “Meat the Press”.
Trump said, “But new leadership means that you will not have any compromise for a long time, right?”
Trump further warned that failure to reach an agreement could have serious consequences, including secondary tariffs on Russian oil.
