Washington: US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Christopher Wray said he plans to resign at the end of outgoing President Joe Biden’s term in January. Ray made this announcement in a meeting with officials of the bureau. Ray said that his aim is to remain focused on our mission to keep working hard for you every day. He said that this is the best way to save the Bureau from getting dragged into any trouble. Christopher Ray has made this announcement at a time when newly elected President Donald Trump had announced the nomination of Kash Patel for this post just a few days ago.
Trump responded
After this announcement by Christopher Ray, Donald Trump has also reacted. Trump said that Christopher Wray’s resignation is a great day for America because it will end the weaponization of the Justice Department. Now we will restore the rule of law for all Americans. The FBI, led by Christopher Wray, conducted an illegal raid on my home. The case was wrongly registered against me, they misused their powers to threaten many innocent people or ruin their lives. Kash Patel is the perfect choice to lead the FBI.
Trump himself appointed
Meanwhile, let us also tell here that Christopher Ray was appointed by the then President Donald Trump in 2017 for 10 years. Now after Ray’s resignation, he will be the second FBI director to whom Trump will show the way out. Earlier, James Comey was removed by Trump during his first term as President.

Donald Trump has selected Indian-origin Kash Patel as FBI Chief. He will take up this post after getting approval from the Senate. Patel is considered close to Trump. He has been a member of the House Parliamentary Select Committee on Intelligence in 2017. Kash Patel has indicated many major changes after assuming the responsibility of FBI Chief.
