Washington: US President Donald Trump has said that he still has good relations with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un with whom he had several summit during his first term. Trump has once again referred to North Korea as “nuclear power”. When asked by reporters during the Oval Office meeting with NATO General Secretary Mark Rutte, whether he planned to re -establish relations with Kim, Trump said “I … I … I have very good relationships with Kim Jong Un, and we will see what happens, but surely he is a nuclear power.”
Emphasis on reducing the number of nuclear weapons
Referring to the nuclear weapons of Russia and China, Donald Trump said that if they succeed in reducing the number of nuclear weapons, it would be a major achievement. He also said that other countries will also be required to include in this process, such as India, Pakistan and other countries which have nuclear weapons. A White House official in the case claimed that Trump’s goal was to make North Korea completely nuclear disarmament, as he had done in his first term.
What did Kim’s sister say?
Significantly, on 15 February, US Secretary of State and Japan and South Korea officials also expressed their commitment to North Korea’s complete nuclear disarmament. Earlier, Kim Jong Un’s sister Kim Yo Jong criticized the Trump administration. It was also said that this North Korea is due to its nuclear capacity.
