New York: US President Donald Trump has signed a government order from the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC). According to the government order, the agency has also been banned from releasing the assistance amount to the agency for Palestinian refugees. Trump has also directed its administration to review its participation in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

What was said in the government order?

The government order said, “The US had helped in establishing the United Nations to prevent future global struggles after World War II and promote international peace and security. But some United Nations agencies and units have deviated from this mission and instead are targeting our colleagues by working contrary to the interests of America and are doing anti-Jewish campaigns.

A fresh review said

The executive order states that like 2018, the US will revaluate its commitment to these institutions and three United Nations organizations which should be reviewed afresh. These include UNHRC, UNESCO and United Nations Relief and Rescue Agency (UNRWA) for refugees. Israel and the US have accused the Human Rights Council of wrongly targeting and defaming Israel.
