Washington: Donald Trump is going to take oath as the President of America on January 20. On this day, National Guard soldiers will wear special types of stripes on their shoulders. National Guard officials in the United States have authorized the use of a special shoulder strap for soldiers with the force’s motto “Always Ready, Always Present.” On the day of swearing in, these soldiers will be seen wearing special shoulder straps. With this, people coming to Trump’s swearing-in ceremony on Monday will be aware of the security officials.

Effort to make identification easier

“The purpose of this is to make sure it’s easy to identify who is participating in the National Guard,” said Brigadier General Leland Blanchard II, adjutant general of the Washington, D.C. Guard. National Guard personnel and law enforcement officers were deployed in Washington during the violence, so camouflage and matching helmets made it almost impossible to distinguish between policemen and soldiers.

7,800 guard soldiers will be on duty

About 7,800 Guard troops from more than forty states and U.S. territories will be on duty on the day of Trump’s inauguration, and they have already begun arriving in Washington. At present, it is not clear who will take charge of the US Defense Department, the Pentagon and military services after the top leaders step down when Trump takes the oath of office on Monday.

The military chiefs of the Army, Navy and Air Force will take over as caretakers of the respective services, officials said. As is the practice, all current political appointees will resign from their posts with effect from 12 noon on January 20. This would leave hundreds of positions vacant at the Defense Department, including dozens that require Senate approval.

Who administers the oath?

In America, the responsibility of administering the oath to the newly elected President rests with the Chief Justice of the United States. Led by the head of the US Supreme Court, the new President takes an oath to perform his duties in accordance with the Constitution. This oath is in very simple words. In this the President takes an oath that he will follow the Constitution of America. Will fulfill the responsibilities of his post with full devotion.
