The President said that “India has been a valuable partner of India in promoting our relations with the Portugal European Union as well as the Portuguese countries, where the Portuguese is the official language.” He said, “The evidence of this strong cultural association in Portugal can also be seen in the widespread popularity of Indian art, culture, food, yoga and Ayurveda.”

Describing Indian migrants as “the foundation of our relations”, he said that they are making valuable contribution to the society and economy of Portugal.
