Earthquake in Miyazaki, Japan
Japan Earthquake: The earth has trembled due to earthquake in Japan. The intensity of the earthquake has been measured at 6.9 on the Richter scale. Japan Meteorological Agency says that strong earthquake tremors have been felt in Kyushu, Japan. Tsunami warning has also been issued in coastal areas after the earthquake. So far, no information has been revealed about any damage or casualties due to this earthquake. The epicenter of the earthquake was in Miyazaki Prefecture.
Waves can rise up to one meter high
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, tsunami waves can reach up to one meter high. earthquake 9 at night 19 minutes past (Japan time) and a tsunami warning was issued for Miyazaki Prefecture shortly thereafter. Due to its location along the Volcanic Arc, Ring of Fire and fault lines in the Pacific Basin, Japan is often vulnerable to earthquakes. Earlier in the month of November last year also, tremendous earthquake tremors were felt in Noto, north-central region of Japan.
The scene of 2004 was horrifying
Tsunami occurred after the terrible earthquake in Japan in 2004. This tsunami caused so much pain to Japan that people have not been able to forget it even today. Thousands of people died in Japan due to the tsunami that followed the earthquake on December 26, 2004.
Devastating earthquake in Tibet
It is noteworthy that on Tuesday last week, at least 126 people were killed and 188 were injured in the earthquake that occurred in Dingri County of Shigatse in Tibet Autonomous Region of China. Earthquake tremors were felt from north-eastern Nepal to parts of India. After this devastating earthquake, rescue workers are busy searching for people buried under the debris amidst the harsh cold.
