Earthquake News: Earthquake tremors were felt in Afghanistan. According to Indian time, an earthquake of 4.2 magnitude occurred in Afghanistan at 06:33:39 am on Sunday morning. The epicenter of the earthquake was located at a depth of 135 km, 36.26 northern latitude and 69.74 Eastern longitude.

Two earthquake tremors occur in Nepal

Earlier, two earthquakes of low intensity occurred in West Nepal late Thursday. According to the Compatible Center, a 5.1 magnitude earthquake occurred at 1.48 pm local time, which was the center at Khalanga in Betadi district. After the earthquake, at two o’clock (local time), the second blow of 3.7 magnitude came. After two consecutive tremors, the local residents got nervous and came out of their homes. Shocks were also felt in neighboring Darchula, Bazhang and Dadeldhura districts.

4.7 magnitude earthquake in Nepal

At the same time, a 4.7 magnitude earthquake was felt in Kaski district of western Nepal on Tuesday afternoon. According to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Center, the epicenter of the earthquake was in the Sinuwa area of Kasky district, about 250 km from Kathmandu, which was recorded at 1.59 pm. Earthquake tremors were also felt in neighboring districts Tanhu, Parvat and Baglung. Earlier on May 14, a 4.6 magnitude earthquake occurred in Chhaskam area of Solukumbhu district of eastern Nepal.

When does an earthquake come?

The main reasons for earthquake occur are dynamics and mutual conflicts of geological plates. The outer surface of the earth is made of seven large and several small tectonic plates. These plates remain in constant motion. When these plates collide, slide or go under each other, that energy takes out as an earthquake. Stress is collected over time in the edge of the plates or in the fault lines. When this stress exceeds a range, the rocks break and suddenly energy is free, causing an earthquake.
