Nepal Plane Emergency Landing: A major accident was averted in Nepal. The plane suddenly caught fire at an altitude of thousands of feet. After the plane caught fire, a VOR landing or manual landing had to be done at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. There were 76 passengers including crew members on board the plane. VOR landing is a way for pilots to navigate and land airplanes using signals from a ground-based radio station called a VOR (Very High Frequency Omnidirectional Range).
No reports of injuries
At present, there is no information about anyone being injured. Tribhuvan International Airport has issued a statement giving information regarding this emergency landing. The plane took off at 10:37 am local time. Shortly after takeoff, the plane’s left engine caught fire. Its VOR landing was done at Tribhuvan International Airport at 11.15 am.
The team is investigating the plane
“Flight 953 from Kathmandu to Bhadrapur was diverted back to Kathmandu after a technical problem with its right engine,” Buddha Airlines said on social media platform The plane landed safely at Tribhuvan International Airport at 11.15 am. Our technical team is currently inspecting the aircraft. Arrangements are being made for another flight to send the passengers to Bhadrapur.
21 plane accidents in 12 years
There have been 21 plane accidents in Nepal in the last 12 years. Hundreds of people have lost their lives in these accidents. Last year, a plane going from Nepal’s capital Kathmandu to Pokhara met with an accident. 68 people died in this accident.
