New Delhi: The European Union (EU) on Wednesday welcomed Ukraine’s decision to be ready for a 30 -day ceasefire with Russia. Ukraine proposed a 30 -day ceasefire with Russia in a conversation with the US on Tuesday at Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. However, it is not clear at the moment whether Russia would accept the proposal or not, as the Kremlin (Russian President’s Office) said on Wednesday that it was waiting to get information about the conclusions of talks with the US.

EU, a group of 27 countries, stated that it is ready to play its ‘full role’ in supporting future steps with Ukraine, the US and other partners. Kaja Kalas, representative of EU’s foreign and security policy affairs, said that the European Union welcomes the joint statement issued by Ukraine and the US after a meeting in Saudi Arabia, including a ceasefire agreement proposal. ”

Russia attacks missile on Ukraine
Kaja Kalas said that the European Union is ready to play its full role in supporting future steps with Ukraine, America and other partners. Meanwhile, Russia has carried out deadly missile attacks in Ukraine. At least five civilians have died in these attacks by Russia. The attacks have been carried out at a time when the US Trump administration has lifted the ban on military aid to deal with Russia’s invasion during a conversation between Kiev and Washington in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.
