London: External Affairs Minister S. Jayashankar has reached the UK on Tuesday on a 6 -day foreign tour of Britain and Ireland. He is traveling this journey to strengthen bilateral cooperation with both countries. The Ministry of External Affairs said that Jaishankar’s visit would renew India’s friendly relations with the two countries. There is a widespread strategic partnership between India and Britain, which has strengthened in diverse fields including defense and security, trade and economy, health, education, mutual relations between people. ”
Jaishankar will hold high -level talks with British Foreign Minister David Lammy on Tuesday and Wednesday and meet many other dignitaries and members of the Indian community in Britain. The focus of their discussion in closed rooms will be on the recently re-introduced Indo-Bitten Free Trade Agreement (FTA) dialogue, comprehensive foreign policy and safety issues, and will also focus on Britain’s efforts to establish “permanent peace” in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
‘India’s rise and role in the world’ will participate in the session
On Wednesday evening, Jaishankar will participate in a session on London’s ‘Chautham House’ Think Tank on a session on ‘India’s rise and role in the world’. On Thursday, Ireland is expected to meet his counterpart Simon Harris and Indian community members in Ireland in Dublin on Thursday. The Ministry of External Affairs said, “India and Ireland have a friendly bilateral relations based on shared democratic values, cultural relations and growing economic relations.” The Foreign Minister will return to Britain to inaugurate India’s new Consul General Embassy in Belfast, Northern Ireland on Friday, inaugurating another consulate in Manchester, Northern England on Saturday.
