India rebuked Pakistan in United Nations Human Rights Council meeting
Geneva: India has fiercely reprimanded Pakistan at the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) meeting in Geneva, Switzerland. India has shown a tough stand on the issue of Kashmir once again by Pakistan. In the seventh meeting of the 58th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, India’s representative Kshitij Tyagi said that India is exercising its right to respond to the baseless and malicious references made by Pakistan. It is sad to see that the so -called leaders and representatives of Pakistan are spreading lies indiscriminately about Kashmir. Pakistan is mocking international rules. Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh will always remain an integral and inseparable part of India.
Progress in Jammu and Kashmir
India’s representative Kshitij Tyagi said that the unprecedented political, social and economic progress in Jammu and Kashmir in the last few years says a lot in itself. These successes are evidence of people’s belief in the government’s commitment, which has been trying to normalize the situation in the region affected by Pakistan sponsored terrorism for decades.
Pakistan should focus on its people
The representative of India said that as a country (Pakistan) where violation of human rights, harassment of minorities and decline of democratic values are part of its policies and who indulged in the United Nations toilet -banned terrorists, they are not in a position to preach anyone. Its rhetoric brings ‘boo’ of disability in hypocrisy and governance. Instead of focusing on India, Pakistan needs to focus on its people.
‘Pakistan needs to learn’
Kshitij Tyagi said that it is unfortunate that the time of this council is being wasted by a unsuccessful nation who is struggling with instability itself. Whereas, India’s focus is on democracy, development and ensuring respect for its people. These are the values from which Pakistan should learn something. Azam Nazir Tarar, a representative of the Government of Pakistan at the United Nations, said that human rights are being violated in Kashmir which is a violation of the United Nations Charter and International Law.
