Raj Mishra becomes the city of Wellingboro city in Britain
London: The son of a farmer from Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh has been elected the new mayor of the city of Wellingboro, UK. Wellingboro is located in the East Midlands region of Britain. He was elected local city councilor earlier this month. Raj Mishra (37) was elected from Victoria ward in the city in the local election held on May 6 and was elected the fifth mayor of Wellingboro at the annual meeting of the city council on Tuesday.

The news of Raj’s mayor being elected razed a wave of happiness among his friends and family in Mirzapur. Mishra said in a statement, “It is an honor to serve as the Mayor of Wellingboro. I am committed to work together with all the residents for a vibrant, inclusive and prosperous community. We will all together build a bright future for our city.”

Raj Mishra hails from Bhatewara village in Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh. His father Munna Lal Mishra is a farmer, Raj is at number six among 9 brothers and sisters. Rajkumar is married to Abhishekta Mishra, a resident of Pratapgarh, his wife is an engineer, he has 2 children.
