Fierce aircraft accident in Ahmedabad, all routes of airport closed

Accident occurred two minutes after the taxoff

Air India flight number AI-171 flew at 1.38 pm. It crashed at 1.40 pm. The aircraft crashed near the Air Custom Cargo Office, which is adjacent to the airport campus. As soon as the aircraft fell, smoke was seen in the entire area.

Former CM of Gujarat was also riding

According to the news, former Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani was also riding in this flight from Ahmedabad to London. There were 242 passengers on the flight including the former CM. There were 2 pilots and 10 cabin on the plane on the plane. The plane was the captain of the aircraft Sumit Sabbarwal. He was accompanied by the first officer Clive Kunder. Captain Sumit Sabharwal was an LTC. He had an 8200 -hour flight experience. The co-pilot had an 1100-hour flight experience.

Rescue work continues

The accident was so terrible that the possibility of any passenger living alive is being expressed very little. Rescue and relief work is going on on the spot. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPIA) spokesperson said that in view of the plane accident, the operation at the airport has been stopped at present. The then CM of Gujarat Bhupendra Patel has instructed to start immediate rescue and relief works on a war footing. Along with this, it has also been asked to ensure the system of providing immediate treatment to the injured passengers.
