Fierce road accident in Indonesia, bus overturned from the hill; 12 injured many people killed

Padang: A tragic road accident occurred on Tuesday in the west Sumatra province of Indonesia. The accident happened when the bus carrying 34 passengers overturned below the hill. At least 12 passengers were killed and several others were injured when the bus overturned uncontrollably. The police has given information about this incident.

Police is investigating

Reza Charul Akbar Sidik, director of Western Sumatra Traffic Police, said that the bus was going from Medan in North Sumatra province to Indonesia’s capital Jakarta. Meanwhile, a bus terminal in Padang city of Western Sumatra probably caused a malfunction. He said that the police is investigating the cause of the accident.

What did the survivors tell in the accident

The surviving people in the accident told the officials that after the break in the brake, the driver lost control of the vehicle in several steep hills in Padang. He said that all the victims, including 23 injured, were taken to two nearby hospitals. Sidik said that 13 injured have suffered serious injuries which have been treated. The condition of many people, including the driver, is critical. (AP)
