Washington: The first NSA level talks have taken place between India and America after the resolution of the highly disputed LAC issue between India and China. US National Security Advisor Jack Sullivan spoke to his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval. The issue of Sikh separatists was discussed between India and America. Jack Sullivan discussed bilateral issues including regional security developments, defense cooperation with his Ajit Doval over phone. Giving information about the conversation between Doval and Sullivan, the White House, the office and official residence of the US President, said on Wednesday that both the leaders discussed the need to do more to ensure stability in the Indo-Pacific region and at the global level. Also discussed.

“They welcomed bilateral partnerships, including the upcoming Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies (ICET) inter-sessional and the Indian Ocean Dialogue,” it said. They also discussed further opportunities for cooperation in key areas including clean energy supply chains and defense cooperation.” The national advisors of the two countries spoke over phone on Wednesday. “They discussed opportunities for cooperation in key areas, including clean energy supply chains and defense cooperation,” the White House said. The US had said earlier this week that the allegations made by Canada against Union Home Minister Amit Shah are ‘worrying’.

America said this on Canada’s allegations

US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller said the allegations made by the Canadian government are worrying. He said that we will continue to consult with the Government of Canada regarding those allegations. Let us tell you that Canada’s Deputy Foreign Minister David Morrison had ‘confirmed’ a news of ‘Washington Post’ in which the allegation was made. That Shah was behind the campaign targeting Khalistani separatists in Canada. Morrison, in response to a question, said he had confirmed Shah’s name with The Washington Post, which first reported the allegations. He had said, “The journalist called me and asked if this was the same person. I confirmed that this is the same person.” The US also said that it welcomes any reduction in tension on the India-China border. He also said that he has been informed about this by New Delhi.

Eye on India-China

Miller said, “We are closely monitoring the developments (between India and China). We understand that both countries have taken initial steps to withdraw troops from the friction points along the Line of Actual Control. But welcome any reduction in tension.” In response to a question, Miller said that America has not played any role in this. Miller said, “We have talked to our Indian partners and we have been briefed about this, but we have not played any role in this proposal. (Language)
