Aircraft operations affected at Nepal’s airport due to bad weather: Due to continuous rain and adverse weather conditions in Nepal since Tuesday night, aircraft operations at airports across the country have been affected.
Bad weather and low visibility at Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport have affected both domestic and international flights.
According to Tribhuvan International Airport General Manager Jagannath Niraula, many international and domestic flights have been affected due to continuous rain. All flights to Pokhara have been cancelled due to bad weather and low visibility. Flights to Janakpur and Simra airports have also not been able to operate on time.
So far at Tribhuvan Airport, Air China coming from Kunming, Indigo coming from Mumbai, Air India and Vistara coming from Delhi, Nepal Airlines coming from Narita Japan have been diverted to Lucknow, Kolkata and Varanasi in India.
According to Buddha Air’s information officer Dipendra Kumar Karna, flights at Pokhara airport have been suspended due to bad weather. Similarly Bharatpur Airport But flights could not be operated due to low visibility.
Similarly, due to bad weather at Surkhet airport, Buddha Air flight was diverted towards Nepalgunj this morning. Flights at Pokhara airport were also affected on Tuesday due to bad weather. All mountain flights flying from Kathmandu have been cancelled due to bad weather.
