20 students will get death sentence
Explain that the Dhaka High Court has also upheld the death sentence of 20 students in the case of murder of their own partner in Bangladesh. In 2019, these students were beaten to death in 2019, after which they were sentenced to death. Fahad, the deceased student, wrote a post on Facebook against the then Sheikh Hasina government. With this post, Fahd was beaten to death by activists of Sheikh Hasina’s Awami League student organization. In this case, in 2021, the lower court convicted the accused students and sentenced them to death. Now the High Court of Bangladesh has also upheld this decision.
