Former Foreign Minister of Pakistan Bilawal Bhutto Zardari
Islamabad: Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party and former Foreign Minister of Pakistan Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has advocated talks with India. While talking to a Pakistani news channel, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that both India and Pakistan are members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). Both the countries should hold bilateral talks on the occasion of the 23rd meeting of SCO. He said, “Why be so strict, talks between the two countries are necessary. Be it today or tomorrow. Even if it is not in the context of SCO. Bhutto, while talking to ARY News, said that sooner or later both the countries will have to resolve bilateral issues. Talks will have to be restarted.
Conversation on issues like climate change is necessary
Former Pak Foreign Minister said that both the countries have their own opinions on differences but why should we forget that Pakistan and India are the two most affected countries due to climate change. Terrorism is also a reality, whether they (India) blame us (Pakistan) and we blame RAW (India’s intelligence agency), but the issue exists. The PPP Chairman said that if we do not talk on issues like climate change, the future of both the countries will not forgive us.
Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has reached Pakistan
Meanwhile, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has reached Pakistan to attend the 23rd meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. It is noteworthy that Jaishankar has already ruled out any possibility of bilateral talks during SCO. The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit 2024 is taking place on 15-16 October in Islamabad, Pakistan. The theme of the summit, “Strengthening Multilateral Dialogue; Striving Towards Sustainable Peace and Prosperity, focuses on cooperation and progress.
Bilawal Bhutto came to India last year
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had attended the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Goa last year. In 2011, Pakistan’s then Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar visited India and held talks with her then counterpart SM Krishna.
