Unidentified armed men in Pakistan’s Balochistan province killed four policemen and four laborers in separate incidents.
The first incident occurred on Saturday in Garibabad area of Nashki city where a motorcycle -riding police team opened fire by armed people, killing four policemen.
At the same time, there was a second attack in Malangzai area of Mangochar city of Kalat, in which four laborers of Punjab province died.
Police officer Hashim Khan told the media that the bodies of policemen have been sent to the hospital and the police have laid siege to the area and started a campaign in search of the attackers.
Jameel Baloch, Deputy Commissioner of Police of Kalat, said that the workers, who were in the grip of the second attack, were residents of Sadikabad, Punjab province and they used to dig the borewell.
No organization has taken responsibility for this attack yet.
These attacks in Balochistan have occurred at a time when the situation in the province is tense due to the demonstrations called by the ‘Baloch Yakjhati Committee’ (BYC).
Several parts of the province remained closed on Sunday due to the demonstration called by BYC. The police started arresting the Central leaders of BYC from Saturday on charges of blocking the flywheel in the area and closing the establishments.
Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti condemned the attacks, calling it a “cruel act of terrorism”.
